Important Notes & Maintenance
Manufacturing Notice: Due to the foam manufacturing process, a thickness variance of ±2mm is normal. Border strips are complimentary; minor black spots, slight discoloration, or small breaks are not considered product defects.
Cleaning Instructions: Use clean water with a neutral detergent or scrub gently with a brush. Place in a well-ventilated area to air dry.
Maintenance Tip: It is recommended to wipe light-colored mats regularly to maintain their appearance.

1. Do the mats have an odor? Are they toxic?
Our mats may have a very faint "new product" scent when first opened, which is different from toxic plastic smells. This scent will gradually dissipate after washing the mats and leaving them to air dry in a well-ventilated area.
Our mats are made from eco-friendly EVA resin foam and are produced without any phthalates or related materials. They have been tested by SGS and Intertek, passing EU safety standards for 213 toxic substances, including Formamide and Phthalates.

2. Will dirt and dust get trapped under the mats?
We have improved our interlocking teeth design to be exceptionally tight, which prevents most dust from seeping through the seams.
Because the mats are made of thick foam, the interlocking teeth may temporarily deform slightly during the assembly or stretching process, creating small gaps. These gaps will naturally close and return to their original shape after being used for a short period.

3. How do I calculate the number of mats I need?
Use this formula: (Area Length × Width) ÷ (Mat Length × Width) = Total Pieces (Round up to the nearest whole number).
Example: For a space measuring 120 x 360 cm, how many 60 cm mats are needed?
Calculation: (120 × 360) ÷ (60 × 60) = 12 pieces.
If the mats are slightly larger than your space, you can easily trim the excess using a utility knife and a metal ruler.

4. Why do the mats feel slippery? How should I clean them?
A non-toxic release agent (oil) is used on the molds during the manufacturing process. Since Pato Pato mats are completely waterproof, this can be easily removed before first use by washing them with detergent (we recommend our Multi-Purpose Household Cleaner).
For daily maintenance, use a vacuum or lint roller to remove dust. You can also spray with alcohol or disinfectant and wipe down with a damp cloth for sanitization.
